Airbus Defence and Space continue to showcase its innovative range of military aircraft, space systems, CIS solutions and emerging technologies at various major Air Shows in 2017.
A recap of our attendances this year so far and a peek into those still to come.
Asia’s biggest air show Aero India 2017 was our first stop of the year from 14th to 18th of February and came with new business opportunities under the Modi government’s Make in India initiative. Airbus DS partnerships in India include collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation on critical indigenous projects such as the Airborne Early Warning & Control system and with Antrix/ Indian Space Research Organisation on joint development of communications satellites.
After our presence at the world’s second largest air show in India, we continued our journey with Avalon 2017 - the Australian International Airshow which saw a record breaking attendance this year between 28th of February and the 5th of March. Avalon Air Show was a comprehensive showcase of Airbus DS` latest products, technologies and services. Highlights included a static display of three leading military aircraft models; a Royal Australian Air Force A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT), a UK Royal Air Force A400M airlifter, and a French Air Force CN235 light transport aircraft. Adjacent to the static display, a mobile field shelter for use during humanitarian missions was displayed. Highlights of the flying display included a dry contact of the RAAF MRTT with two F-18s. The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) and Airbus signed a research agreement to further develop the RAAF KC-30A’s capabilities during the show.

Coming up next was The Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) as the largest show of its kind within the Asia Pacific region. Airbus showcased its extensive range of products, cutting-edge capabilities, and strong industrial partnerships in Malaysia via a high-profile presence at the 14th edition of LIMA which took place at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre, Langkawi, Malaysia, between 21st and 25th of March.
A Royal Malaysian Air Force A400M airlifter was among the highlights of the flying display on the opening day. The static display featured a RMAF’s A400M airlifter and CN235 light transport aircraft.
Airbus DS formally handed over the last of four A400M military transport aircraft on order for the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF). A ceremony to mark the official handover was held at LIMA exhibition. Receiving the aircraft on behalf of the RMAF was Malaysian defence minister Hishammuddin Hussein.

On to the Americas where the FAMEX (Feria Aeroespacial de Mexico) Airshow 2017 took place from 26th to 29th of April at the Santa Lucia Air Base, close to Mexico City. The Spanish Air Force's A400M was one of the star attractions for visitors to the Airbus Defence and Space static display at the show.
Following the opening ceremony, the President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, paid a special visit to the Spanish Air Force's A400M.
This is the second time that the A400M visits Mexico after its first visit in 2014 for a dedicated tour to demonstrate its capabilities to the Mexican Air Forces.
Airbus participated in FAMEX, as one of the most important aerospace companies, among the more than 200 companies participating in this edition of FAMEX.

In the second half of the year, Airbus DS will be present at all major Air Shows.
The 52nd Paris Air Show will take place at the Le Bourget Parc des Expositions from 19th to 25th of June, and once again will bring together all the players in this global industry around the latest technological innovations.
We will present the majority of our portfolio on static and flying display. A variety of new digital exhibition tools will be showcasing the Airbus DNA at the Pavillion and surely draw the crowds
Seoul International Aerospace & Defense Exhibition (Seoul ADEX) 2017 will be held at the Seoul Airport from October 17th to 22nd. ADEX with 20 years’ history, showed a 17% growth over the preceding exhibition, aligning its amazing growth trend with the explosive increase in the aerospace and defense industries in Asia.
We will present aircrafts from our military transport portfolio on static display and further parts of our portfolio through innovative means in the companies pavillion.
As the last big show of the year we will also be present at this year's Dubai Airshow from 13th to 17th of November.
