Our planet faces massive economic, social and environmental challenges and as a global company, we believe we have a role in contributing to the resolution of societal issues. At the end of 2015, the United Nations defined a set of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defining global priorities and aspirations for 2030. The SDGs explicitly call on business to use creativity and innovation to address development challenges.

1. Ethics and Compliance

Airbus Defence and Space supports worldwide the people whose mission it is to keep the world connected, informed, and safe. In this role, ethics, compliance and transparency are at the core of its activities. Airbus Defence and Space is committed to Ethics and Compliance at all times and raising awareness in this field has been and continues to be one of its top priorities. Airbus Defence and Space dedicated relevant compliance training sessions as well as communication campaigns are implemented to reach out to all employees.

Airbus Defence and Space carefully manages the impact of its operations at each of its sites and at the same time it is promoting innovation and eco-design throughout its portfolio for today’s and tomorrow’s products such as electric propulsion. Airbus Defence and Space’s products and solutions, amongst others, help its Customers measure and monitor the Earth and its changes. This is one of the Airbus Defence and Space key contributions to creating a more sustainable society, in a journey to become an always stronger eco-efficient company.

3. Technology & Innovation

For Airbus Defence and Space innovation is the key to tackling upcoming challenges for its Customers and society. Airbus Defence and Space is driving its business and securing the future through the development of new technologies and innovations as part of its portfolio.

Airbus Defence and Space has established an Innovation House, supporting an efficient and pragmatic exploitation of innovative technologies within the company.

6. Our contribution to the Humanitarian community

With its broad product portfolio, Airbus Defence and Space has innovations, products and services to support all phases of a humanitarian crisis worldwide. Its portfolio enables, for example the provision of satellite images to support assessment, search and rescue activities, transportation for emergency relief actions, the delivery of supplies for early recovery or the deployment of mobile systems in support of long term recovery and development.
